If you ever are able to visit Charlottetown, you must take a peek inside this beautiful church. St. Dunstan's Basilica is located downtown Charlottetown in the beautiful province of PEI. It is such a large, impressive building and I was super excited to photograph a wedding in it. For this particular picture, I simply asked the bridesmaids to walk up the steps of the church ahead of the bride. Using my wide angle lens, I framed both the bride and the church in the scene. The church is absolutely gorgeous inside and has so much history to it. In 1990, the Government designated St. Dunstan’s Basilica a National Historic Site of Canada It is one of the most elaborate churches in the Maritimes and a great example of High Victorian Gothic Revival architecture. When the couple were getting ready at the Holman Grand Hotel, it was very cool to be able to see the spires of the church from the room balcony. It really is the most visible landmark on the city skyline. There are also 10-ft tall spiral crosses at the top of the spires to extend the height. There are nearly 300 angel representations that are present in the stained glass of the church.
