I love a bright sunny day for a wedding. But you have to know how to used the sun to your advantage and not make the entire wedding party squint and break out in a sweat. For this summer wedding at Strathmere, I took the girls prior to the wedding into the garden to get a shot of them having fun and relaxing. The light was absolutely amazing and it really made their purple dresses pop from the green foliage. Once I placed them into the area I wanted, I walked further away to compose my shot. During the time I was composing, the girls were laughing and having a great time. I love how the background of flowers pops as well matching their colors. Strathmere really is a perfect location to get married at as they have numerous locations for photographs and of course their food is one of the best I have experienced at weddings. If you are looking for a country feeling but with lots of elegance, check out their newly redesigned barn for your venue. They have stunning chandeliers from Restoration Hardware that match the exposed wooden beams so nicely. In the summer, I love photographing couples in their fields while the sunsets behind them.
