Amber and Josh’s Romantic Wedding at Clinton Hills PEI

On Clinton’s picturesque hillside, a magical 1959 rustic barn wedding.

If you’re after a scenic, rustic vibe, Clinton Hills is a perfect venue for you. A restored 1959 rustic barn situated on 92 acres, this location was stunning and picturesque. With its seemingly never-ending countryside and panoramic view of the Southwest river, I was thrilled to shoot Amber and Josh’s wedding and capture PEI’s beauty.

Amber and Josh met in a second language course they were both taking in Saint Jean, Quebec. Immediately smitten, Josh worked in secret with a ring maker, taking 3 months to craft just the right design. Proposing with an original song on a trip to Niagara Falls, Josh poured his heart out and Amber excitedly said yes. Take note, fellas—this is how it’s done.

To complement Clinton Hills’ rustic tone, Amber and her family made custom barn board boxes with weathered mason jars. Focusing on simple and elegant decorations, many of the accoutrements were made from real barn board and barn tin roofing, natural beauty of the venue. Every element of the celebration was selected to pay homage to Amber and Josh’s loved ones, incorporating small elements of items that reminded the couple of their nearest and dearest.

The bride was stunning in a dress of tulle-and-lace, with gorgeous embroidery. The forest landscape for this couple’s outdoor ceremony gave an enchanted and magical quality to the moment. A vintage blue pickup truck provided the perfect backdrop for some colourful country memories.

The reception barn had the perfect country feel, with soft lighting and exposed wood beams. Amber and Josh’s playful sides really showed, with a fun “kiss the fish” game taking place of the usual knife-against-glass routine. The room was full of life, love, and amazing moments to capture—all of my favourite things.

It was an honour to capture Amber and Josh’s special day, and I couldn’t think of a more beautiful location to celebrate their love.
